Children are leaving a footprint online as well

These days the introduction of technology to our children is starting at a very early age. If a child is introduced to a digital device early on and can handle and maneuver it; it most likely will be able to handle the majority of devices that it will be confronted with on an everyday basis starting early on in school.

Technology in education is a teaching and learning tool that is being implemented at a faster rate than ever. This enables schools to engage students more effective as well as handle students data and engage and inform parents more efficient.

Parents these days need to teach their children to be responsible when leaving a digital footprint. They need to make children aware about their privacy rights and needs. Our society teaches children to not talk to strangers, to not run over the street, but do we engage with minors about the risks they take when “posting online” or sharing personal data with the outside world?

Some sites claim all right’s to posted data and/or images one makes even if you think you deleted it, they might still store the date in their database. This in return can possible lead to an online history that could inhibit future possibilities for your child. Think of a future employer that might research the online history of his applicants. Also time sensitive material need to be posted with caution to ensure once security in real life.

We at Dreemdital work hard to ensure the highest standards of privacy. We work hand in hand with our clients to enable teachers, students, and administrators to become knowledgable online users.
